Meadow Lookout by Steve Perry

Habitat: The grizzly bear’s preferred habitats are forested areas with rivers to catch fish. Mountain bears forage along slopes and through scree where bugs and insects are plentiful.

Food: Like the grizzly’s cousin the majority of its diet is plants, berries, roots, fruits and leaves but other animals are eaten such as fish, insects, young calf’s, and even gophers, marmots and mice are dug up from the ground. When they wake up from hibernation grizzly’s are very hungry and can smell carrion over 16 km away.
